    Dear Northwest Community,

It is hard to believe that spring is here!  The 2018-2019 school year seems to be flying by.  We have had many great enhancements to our already strong early elementary programming.  The staff at Northwest Early Elementary has been busy implementing a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports System School-wide, as well as, computer based interventions to our reading program.  These two focused interventions create a balanced delivery of instruction to support both behavioral and academic achievement These positive changes have been well received by the students and staff, and the data is showing that these efforts are worth it!

Please remember to take time for yourself and our young Mounties. Opportunities for engagement are endless with the rebirth of nature right outside your door.  Setting up playdates in the spring and summer at local parks with children of like ages also provides healthy social interactions. These learned skills are essential and lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning and positive relationships.

I look forward to finishing the 2018-2019 school year strong; as always I appreciate your continued support.

    Sincerely,

    Mark Short
