• Points of Pride

    • Our student newspaper, The Moxie Mountie, earned the highest award given by the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association—The Spartan Award.  This is the fifth “Spartan” in the last seven years.  Congratulations to all the staff members, Editor in Chief Kyle Francis, and advisor, Mr. Ron Woodruff.
    • Mr. Bowen’s German students took many top honors at the annual German Day competition held at the University of Michigan.
    • Our yearbook staff, under the direction of Miss Hade, took home 11 of 20 possible awards in individual categories in the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association competition.
    • Mike LeHolm won the State wrestling championship in his weight class.
    • Student government officers earned 3 individual scholarships from the Red Cross.
    • The Northwest High School band performed in Boston, Massachusetts, with the Boston Pops.
    • Our girl’s tennis team earned all-state academic honors as a team.
    • Northwest High School students gave over 1200 hours community service within the district and thousands of dollars to charity.
    • Northwest High School continues it’s strong tradition in band and choir.
    • We’ve implemented our Project Lead the Way program (pre-engineering program).
    • We’re proud of our strong community support for our students and athletes.
